“When I got married aged 24…and got pregnant with my little one, I thought I was one of the luckiest ever! Soon after the beatings began...
I got the courage to walk out with a 6-month-old. Life was lonely, and I was broke, since I'd given up my job in order to spend 3 years raising my child...
A few months later he came back...full of apologies and wanting to make our little family work. Fast forward 4 months...and I was unconscious on the bathroom floor. That's when I got out again – vowing this would definitely be the last time. But then I discovered I was pregnant again. How could I bring another human being into my uncertainty?
My solution came through flight tickets to Amsterdam, where an old friend was working... She took the day off work to look after my other child whilst I had the procedure done... I don't regret the procedure – it gave me the chance to rebuild my life together with my child. My only regret is having been in the situation I was in... So that's why I'm proud to say I'm pro-choice – that choice can save your sanity!”
