Story 27 - 13.10.2019

“He was verbally and physically abusive for a long time.

When we found out I was pregnant, the first thing he told me was, “Go to your country and fix it.” I told him I was not going to go through it alone, so we both flew to my country and ‘fixed it.’ That same day he flew back to Malta and I stayed in my country after the procedure.

I was alone in a hotel room. Nobody knew I was there. Not my sister, nor my friends. I was so ashamed to have become pregnant from such a monster that I did not tell anyone.

He did not call or message me at all that evening or night, despite knowing that I could be bleeding out or that there could be some complications after the procedure.

I do not regret doing it and I am more than happy not to share a son/daughter with such a horrible person, but if abortion had been legal in Malta, at least I would not have had to travel abroad and spend the worst, scariest and loneliest night of my life alone in a hotel room.”
